MaxMet 500 is a solvent-free epoxy putty repair stick, designed to cure even in damp or underwater situations. When mixed the material will bond to all metallic, wooden, ceramic, fibreglass and most plastic surfaces.

Description

MAXMET 500 UNDERWATER EPOXY PUTTY STICK is a solvent-free epoxy putty repair stick, designed to cure even in damp or underwater situations. When mixed the material will bond to all metal, wood, ceramic, fibreglass and most plastic surfaces.

The material is supplied in stick form with a predetermined mixing ratio of base and activator. The product is mixed by kneading with a gloved hand until a uniform off-white putty is achieved. Once mixed MAXMET 500 UNDERWATER EPOXY PUTTY STICK provides a fast curing putty, suited for rapid repairs in most environments. The normal application method is by a gloved hand.

Once the repairs are completed, the area may be over-coated with any of our epoxy or polyurethane lining or coating systems, providing additional long-term asset protection.

When mixed MAXMET 500 UNDERWATER EPOXY PUTTY STICK has a standard has a pot life of 15 mins. Once cured it is readily drilled, machined or sanded to achieve the desired profile of the repair.

Description

MAXMET 500 – EPOXY UNDERWATER PUTTY is a solvent-free epoxy putty repair stick, designed to cure even in damp or underwater situations. When mixed the material will bond to all metallic, wooden, ceramic, fibreglass and most plastic surfaces.

Surface Preparation

The material is suitable for application to manually prepared surfaces, any loose materials such as old coatings must be removed, and the surface cleaned with solvent prior to application of the product.

Mixing

The product is supplied in stick form and therefore the base and activator component are pre-measured.

Simply break off the required amount of material from the stick and using gloved hands knead the product until the green and cream components become a consistent light green.

The product once fully mixed has a usable life of 15 mins at 20°C

Application

Once a consistent mix has been achieved apply the material by pressing the putty with firm pressure onto the prepared surface and hold for 30 seconds

Overcoat

Times

Minimum – the applied material can be over-coated as soon as it is touch dry. 

Maximumover-coating time 3 hours

Where the maximum over-coating time is exceeded, the material should be allowed 

to harden before being abraded, or flash-blasted and solvent washed to remove any surface contamination
